What is CIRKIL?

CIRKIL™ is an EPA registered plant-based biopesticide targeting bed bugs.

How is CIRKIL different or better?

CIRKIL is the only EPA-approved product that kills 100% of bed bugs and eggs on contact and as a residual.  It is plant based, using cold pressed neem oil as the active ingredient and has a non-toxic mode of action.

What do you mean by 100% Effective?

Efficacy studies were conducted by independent labs and submitted to the EPA as part of our application for registration. In these studies CIRKIL® killed 100% of bed bug adult and on contact.  In these studies, CIRKIL® also killed 100% of bed bugs and their eggs as a residual, providing residual kill for up to 2 weeks for adults and nymphs, and up to 3 weeks for eggs.

Does CIRKIL kill pyrethroid resistant bed bugs?

In independent third party research, CIRKIL was shown to kill 100% of pyrethroid resistant bed bugs adult and eggs both on contact and as a residual.

Does CIRKIL have a strong smell?

CIRKIL is plant based and so it does have a strong smell.  When used as directed the smell may dissipate in 1-2 weeks.

What is cold pressed neem oil?

Cold pressed neem oil is the active ingredient in CIRKIL.  It is a natural oil that has been used for thousands of years primarily for human health applications.

Where can I buy CIRKIL?

CIRKIL is currently available  through UNIVAR, Target, Essco and some Residex branches.  If there is not a distributor branch in your area you can buy CIRKIL on our website.

How effective is Rag in a Bag?

This protocol was proven to kill 100% of bed bug adult, nymph and eggs in testing done at Virginia Tech Polytechnic University.  Here is a link to a webinar sponsored by Terramera and PCT Magazine to data from this study by Dr. Dini Miller.

What kinds of items can be treated with Rag in a Bag?

Books, electronics, DVD’s CD’s, video games, shoes, purses and other items that can’t be treated with a conventional spray.

Does CIRKIL kill pyrethroid resistant bed bugs?

In independent third party research, CIRKIL was shown to kill 100% of pyrethroid resistant bed bugs adult and eggs both on contact and as a residual.

Will items in the bag be damaged by treatment?

As long as the treated rag does not come in contact with items in the bag, no damage should occur

How full should the bag be?

We recommend that you fill the bag no more than two-thirds full to allow some air space.

What kind of bag should I use?

Any large, non-porous garbage bag will work.

What kind of cloth should I use?

Any absorbent cloth will work. It can be cotton or polyester. The chosen “rag” must be able to absorb the product, so something like old linens wouldn’t work well as they are not very absorbent. Sponges, on the other hand are too absorbent and don’t allow release of the product.

Is Rag in a Bag a labeled use?

Rag in a Bag is currently a use protocol we recommend under 2ee. It has not been approved in NY.

Will there be a strong smell when using Rag in a Bag?

CIRKIL is plant based so it does have a smell. With Rag in a Bag, there is some smell when CIRKIL RTU is applied to the cloth, this smell will go away as soon as the room is ventilated.  Once the bag is sealed there should be no smell in the area the bags are stored.  Once the bag is opened, the smell is mild and goes away quickly, there is no persistent smell with treated items.

Can I use CIRKIL CX with Rag in a bag instead of RTU?

No. Only CIRKIL RTU works for Rag in a Bag.
